When a finished cosmetic product leaves production, it has already gone through numerous process steps.

One department is involved in many of them: Quality Management.

But what is it actually like to work in Quality Management for a cosmetics manufacturer?

For our series “The People Behind the Products”, we asked one of our team members three questions.

Question 1: What makes your work in Quality Management special?

Answer: “For me, the variety is what makes the job particularly interesting. Quality Management is not only about the finished product. We deal with a wide range of topics and work closely with different departments across the company.

This gives you a great insight into the entire process behind the creation of a cosmetic product.”

Quality is therefore not something that happens in isolation within a single department. It connects different processes and teams throughout the company.

Question 2: What qualities do you need to work in Quality Management?

Answer: “Attention to detail is, of course, very important. You need to work in a structured way and pay close attention to the details.

But I believe communication is just as important. When different departments work together, information needs to be communicated clearly and questions need to be resolved collaboratively.”

This second aspect is something that can easily be overlooked from the outside.

Quality Management is not only about checking and documenting – it is also about communicating and collaborating.

Question 3: What do you particularly enjoy about working in cosmetics manufacturing?

Answer: “I find it exciting that, at the end of the process, a real product is created. You are involved in different stages and eventually get to see the result of everyone's work.

There is much more behind a finished cosmetic product than consumers might realise at first glance.”

And these are exactly the processes we want to make more visible.

Because behind every finished product are people from different areas:

Development → Quality → Production → Filling → Packaging & Finishing → Logistics

Each of these stages plays an important role in the overall process.

Quality is teamwork

Quality Management is built on defined processes and careful, structured work.

At the same time, it depends on the people who put these processes into practice every day and take responsibility together.

With our series “The People Behind the Products”, we want to regularly take you behind the scenes at CSE and introduce the people who work on our cosmetics projects.
